We Value Nature Dialogue I: Making valuing nature the new normal in business - Assessing the state of play
As the We Value Nature campaign draws to a close, we will be reflecting on recent progress towards our goal of valuing nature becoming the new normal for business. This includes recent regulatory developments, business commitments, natural capital accounting standards and decisions at COP26.
Business leaders and policymakers will meet in November at the 2021 European Business and Nature Summit (EBNS) - a high-level political and technical forum - to capitalise on the growing awareness that businesses impact and depend on nature and the ecosystem services it provides. They will aim to mobilise the business community and strengthen the European "Business for Biodiversity movement" called upon by the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030.
We Value Nature has brought together 10 experts from 6 different organisations to offer pro-bono technical support to EU-based businesses to address specific questions and challenges relating to natural capital, natural capital accounting, biodiversity and nature based solutions.
